The ThorpeWood property is nestled in a rocky and heavily forested stream valley, 1,500 feet up in the Catoctin Mountains of Maryland. We are only an hour and fifteen minutes away from Washington and Baltimore, yet the property offers seclusion and a sense of remoteness.

TOUR INFORMATION
All tours are by appointment ONLY, as the ThorpeWood property is privately owned and most weekends we have events taking place on the property.
We offer tours by appointment Monday – Thursday between 10am – 4pm and weekend tours depending on availability. During busy wedding season, we are often unable to hold weekend tours due to weddings and rehearsals scheduled.
For weekend tours we typically schedule 2-3 couples per tour. We ask that when you are scheduled for a weekend tour that you please limit your group to no more than 3 individuals. After you tour the property we welcome you to schedule another time to come back and show others the lodge and grounds. We will confirm the available weekend tour date and time when you contact us for tour availability. Our weekend tours do book quickly and sometimes need to be booked 2-3 weeks in advance, but we will do our best to get you in as quickly as possible. If you are anxious to view the property we recommend taking a weekday to schedule a time to tour.
Our tour is thorough and take approximately 2 hours. Our property is large (155 acres) and there is a lot of information to cover, as events at Mountain Memories at ThorpeWood are run very differently that most venues. We spend about an hour in the lodge and then the 2nd hour walking the property to see the grounds and outdoor ceremony sites. Please plan accordingly when scheduling a tour of our property and other venue sites near by. Often clients do not provide enough time for our tour and travel time to/from other venues in the area. We want to insure you are getting all of the information on how your event will run at Mountain Memories at ThorpeWood, as well as see all that the property has to offer!
DO NOT depend completely on your GPS or Map Quest when driving get to here – these often get people lost or late and/or send you the longer way to the ThorpeWood Lodge! We are on the mountain so cell reception is not intermittent. Please follow the directions from our website to the main lodge, or we are happy to give you more specific directions if we know where you are driving from.
